1. Introduction

Welcome to Signature Plates. By accessing or purchasing from our website, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service.
Please read them carefully before placing an order.

These Terms govern all sales, exchanges, and communications between Signature Plates (“we”, “us”, “our”) and you (“the customer”, “you”, “your”).

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use our website or purchase our products.

2. Legal Compliance – DVLA Regulations

Signature Plates operates in full compliance with the British Number Plate Suppliers Regulations (2003) and the DVLA display standards.
We are legally required to verify both your identity and entitlement before manufacturing or supplying any road-legal number plate.

You must provide valid documentation before your order can be processed or shipped.
Failure to provide acceptable proof will result in your order being cancelled without refund, in accordance with our Exchange Policy.

3. Proof of Identity and Entitlement

Before we can supply or dispatch a road-legal (non-display) plate, you must provide:

Proof of Identity (one of the following):

  • Driving Licence

  • Passport

  • Utility bill (dated within the last six months)

  • Bank or building society statement

Proof of Entitlement (one of the following):

  • Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C)

  • Certificate of Entitlement (V750)

  • Retention Document (V778)

  • Lease or hire agreement (showing registration number)

Failure to provide these documents will prevent your order from being fulfilled.

4. Custom and Display Plates

“Display” or “Show Plates” (not for road use) may be supplied without proof of entitlement.
These are for off-road or exhibition purposes only and must not be displayed on public highways.
By purchasing a display plate, you accept full responsibility for its lawful use.

5. Order Processing and Shipping

All orders are processed only after full payment and documentation (if applicable) have been received and verified.

We are not responsible for delays caused by missing or invalid documentation, courier delays, or incorrect delivery addresses.

6. Exchange Policy (No Refunds)

Signature Plates operates a strict exchange-only policy.
Refunds are not issued under any circumstances.

To request an exchange, your item must:

  • Be unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging

  • Be accompanied by proof of purchase and valid ownership documents

  • Have prior written authorization from us

Failure to provide proof of ownership (V5C and driving licence) will void your eligibility for an exchange.

7. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in GBP (£) and include VAT (where applicable).
Payment must be made in full at the time of order via our accepted payment methods.
We reserve the right to update prices, products, or promotional offers at any time without prior notice.

8. Intellectual Property

All designs, images, logos, and website content are the property of Signature Plates.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify any materials without our written permission.

9. Liability Disclaimer

Signature Plates is not liable for:

  • Any improper use or illegal display of number plates

  • Delays or losses caused by postal services or third-party couriers

  • Damage caused by incorrect installation or misuse

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our products

Our liability shall not exceed the total price paid for your order.

10. Fraud and Misrepresentation

Providing false or fraudulent documentation for the purpose of obtaining a number plate is a criminal offence under UK law.
Any suspected fraudulent activity will be reported to the DVLA and law enforcement authorities.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
